1. Our privacy commitment
Darrin's Garage respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the new storefront collects, why we use it, when it is shared, and the choices available to you. It applies to this website, customer accounts, carts, orders, reviews, and communications with us.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, account preferences, saved vehicles and nicknames, wishlist, cart contents, ratings and reviews, support messages, and other information you choose to provide.
Orders and payment records
When you place an order, we keep the items purchased, quantities, prices, order status, shipping details, and limited PayPal transaction references and status information needed to confirm payment, issue support, prevent duplicate processing, and maintain business records. PayPal may return a payer name, email address, shipping address, payer identifier, order identifier, and capture identifier. We do not use those references to access your PayPal account.
Account sign-in
If you choose “Continue with Google,” Google authenticates you and provides the basic account details needed to create or access your storefront account, such as your name, email address, email-verification status, and profile image. We do not receive your Google password.
Device and usage information
Our systems and service providers may process browser and device information, request timestamps, referring site, campaign tags, pages visited, and approximate location derived from network information, such as country, region, and city. Our storefront page-view records do not store your raw IP address. Administrative security and audit logs may include an IP address and user agent to protect the service and account for privileged actions.
3. How we use information
- Provide the storefront, account, saved garage, wishlist, cart, checkout, order history, and review features;
- Process, fulfill, deliver, refund, and support orders;
- Confirm part fitment and respond to questions;
- Authenticate users and protect accounts, payments, and the site from abuse or fraud;
- Send service-related messages about accounts, orders, or support;
- Measure site performance, understand which pages and campaigns are useful, and improve the shopping experience;
- Maintain records, enforce our terms, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
4. When information is shared
We share information only as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including with:
- PayPal to create, approve, capture, verify, or refund payments;
- Google when you use Google sign-in;
- Cloudflare for website delivery, security, data storage, and service operation;
- Suppliers, fulfillment partners, and shipping carriers to source, pack, ship, track, or support your order;
- Professional advisers and authorities when necessary to comply with law, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, or protect rights and safety; and
- A successor business as part of a merger, sale, financing, or transfer, subject to appropriate protection of the information.
These providers may process information under their own privacy statements and contractual responsibilities.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We use secure session cookies to keep signed-in users authenticated. These cookies are configured to reduce access from browser scripts and cross-site requests. For a guest shopper, cart contents may be stored in the browser’s local storage so the cart remains available on that device. Signing in may move that cart into the customer account. You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser, but doing so may sign you out or remove a guest cart.
6. Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested services and maintain appropriate business, tax, accounting, warranty, fraud-prevention, dispute, and legal records. Retention periods vary by record type. We may retain limited information after account closure when required for those purposes.
7. Security
We use HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls, secure session settings, and service-provider safeguards designed to protect information. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your Google account and devices protected, and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
8. Your choices
You may review information available in your account, update saved garage details, remove wishlist items, and clear a guest cart through your browser. You may contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal information. We will respond consistent with applicable law and may need to verify your identity. Some order and transaction records cannot be deleted immediately because they must be retained for business or legal reasons.
You can decline Google sign-in, but account-only features and checkout may then be unavailable. Payment privacy choices related to PayPal should be managed through PayPal.
9. Children’s privacy
The storefront is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the storefront, providers, or legal requirements. We will post the revised policy here and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the site or another appropriate method.
